My husband is a graduate medical school soon, and will soon have to send letters to various hospitals. My question is. . What is the best place to live in Illinois, in addition to Chicago? We have lived here all my life are, and living costs are very expensive. We stayed in an apartment with five children, and believe me this is too much! if we want to leave Chicago and buy a house “a lot!” but I would like to know what places in Illinois, or even in another state, give a big house, nice neighborhood, and schools, with a reasonable price range for buying a house. I mean you can spend 400,000 on a house in Chicago. but no. be several things wrong with him and his little hand. So we are looking for all sizes of new homes that give you more for your money. Please I really need this help and, as I mentioned before, if you do not know the Illinois and other states would be very useful for us too

How ironic to the person above me. I lived in the Quad Cities most of my life. I liked it a lot. I lived in Davenport, and will actually be moving back soon. I am with ALCOA and it’s a great company to work for. I know people who live in Moline and Rock Island, and they like it also. The Quad Cities is only 3 hours from Chicago and I-80 runs right through Davenport. If you build on the out-skirts of town, you can get a pretty good chunk of land at a good price. The schools are great, and they have lots of things to do. I currently live in Florida, and I liked Davenport, Iowa better.
CHAMPAIGN!!
Reasons:
University of Illinois
Great food
Easy to get around
Oh and the University of Illinois
Go Illini!
Northern suburbs are really nice, like anything north of O’Hare airport. Schools are a lot better there.
I would say Chicago Heights, IL because it’s like a suburb and it has a nice safe neighborhood. Also, they have huge backyard space for kids to play in. I say you should try your luck there.
Head north, across the border, to places like Kenosha. The corridor between Chicago and Milwaukee is filling in, and there are jobs of all types there. By choosing a quieter semi-rural town, you get much more house for the dollar.
Quincy, Illinois. Large clinic and hospital.
$275,000 in Quincy will get you 3,000 square foot, brand new home.
population approx. 45,000
My brother and his family live in Glen Ellyn and they love it there.
Naperville, IL was for several years rated as the best place in the U.S. to raise a child, so I would recommend Naperville, or the Naperville area (except Aurora).
St. Charles and Geneva are just as well. St. Charles is possibly the most attractive-looking, picturesque town in Illinois.
st charles
I live in the Illinois quad cities and it’s not too terrible down here.
