I am looking into buying a Condo or a House in Chicago and I was just wondering you could give me some info on the nicer parts of Chicago. What areas should I AVOID? I am hoping to stay close to downtown Chicago. What are some nice parts of Chicago to buy a home?
Thanks!

gold coast.
The southside is the worst place to live in chicago but if you want to stay closer to downtown then why does it matter of which areas to avoid if your going to be downtown?
The best parts are GoldCoast, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Wrigleyville, and Bucktown areas. They won’t be the cheapest but that’s the best part of Chicago to live in. I think if you want more value for your money you should live out in the burbs. You can get a bigger house living out there.
Avoid Inner City neighborhoods and the West Side.
Chicago’s North Side is a great area filled with yuppies. Areas like Lincoln Park and Hyde Park are growing and great places to live.
On the South Side, Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood is a great place to live, but some of the surrounding city neighborhoods are not so great.
